This dress is the perfect basic little black dress to go with anything for literally any occasion. I've worn it dressed down with sneakers on a chilled weekend day out with my mum, and also dressed it up for dinners. It fits so perfectly well and is extremely comfy in supersoft ribbed fabric. If only I bought more of it.

In this outfit, I went with a simple layered look with one of my fav grey coats (that you guys are probably sick of seeing now)! They are both well made basic pieces I never want to not have in my wardrobe and well, it's no surprise that they go really well together (as with almost the rest of my wardrobe)!

Wearing a longline jacket over my dress - that's probably my favourite way to style dresses! There are so many pretty dresses out there but somehow, I don't usually fancy wearing just one dress on it's own. If you don't already know, I'm a huge fan of layering - I buy tons of basics (best if they are basics with a twist) and most of the time, my mum can't tell my tees apart! Jackets are my weakness and I can never seem to pass up on one that catches my eye (unless it's ridiculously pricey).

Let's start with this dress, shall we? It is definitely one of my favourite dresses I own. Ok, it IS my favourite dress. Black, viscose, vneck, perfect length for me, has pockets. It is definitely my favourite dress. I've had it for several years now - probably around 4-5 years! I think it was meant to be a top for taller ladies but well, I'm really tiny so the length is perfect for me. It has a slightly dipped hem at the back and the draped lapel is one of my favourite necklines too.

Got this amazing jacket last October in Turkey and I fell in love with it instantly. The sleeves were surprisingly not too long on my short arms and I love the length of it too. There's so much to this coat that I like - the colour, double breasted buttons, the weight of it (though it's kind of impractical for the bloody warm SG weather) and the split in the back.

p.s. it pains me a little to see how this pair of shoes (my fav work shoes) look so clean and almost scratch free here. I've worn them to work almost everyday since I got them and they're soooo badly scratched now!!!

This might just be my most colourful dress. Bought it around 5 years ago and what sold me then were the pockets (and it still makes me really happy now..)Since it's already so colourful, I reigned it all back in with tons of black. This NL Petite duster coat which you guys have seen so many times already does the perfect job doing just that. A dress and coat is such an easy yet chic ensemble. It barely requires any ironing and somehow it just makes the look really effortless yet cool. It works for most occasions, from work to play (I think a silk slip dress w a huge knit coat and some leather boots is a really sexy and edgy outfit for a night out!)

I'm a hugeeee fan of layering and this post is all about my new favourite grey coat - a coat I have been lusting after for almost forever. I have been looking for the perfect double breasted coat and I was over the moon to have found it at JPO's Burberry at a steal. And of course, I am extremely petite so I didn't even bother browsing the women's coat section and went straight to the kids section. I am wearing a size 12Y and it fits me perfectly. The arms have just enough room for me to layer a jumper under it if I need but it isn't too baggy when worn alone either.

Autumn is my favourite season of the year and there are so many amazing coats in the spotlight this AW - check out the latest coat trends here! My favourites are the gorgeous black and white houndstooth coat by Missoni and the leather trench coat which I promised to myself will appear in my closet one day. Long coats might not always be flattering on petite ladies like myself if they're too heavy-weight.  I love this simple wool coat which has buttons placed strategically to give an illusion of a higher waistline (= longer legs). I love coats in neutral colours so they can be worn with almost anything and everything else in my wardrobe.

Matched my new coat-love with a simple asymmetrical hem tee-dress. This dress fits amazingly well and I'll admit, I never thought that I'll find a dress a tad too short for me. The length of the dress is perfect for me on the back but the wrap front made the front a little too short compared to my other minidresses and needs some getting used to. Teedresses generally have a casual vibe and well, you all know me - I love dressing up casual pieces and dressing down formal pieces. Mixing this tee dress with my new coat just makes the look really simple and chic. Any shoe would work well with this look - sneakers, ankle boots, knee high boots, heels, brogues and more. I have so many styling ideas for this coat and I can't wait to be in lower temperatures again.
