So... right after this day I got a stain on the blouse and I couldn't get it off :(

Nowadays I mostly only wear denim shorts from Mango. Have 3 pairs in different washes/designs on rotation - I love denim shorts which are non-stretch denim and that's actually not easy to find these days. Just picked up a pair from ASOS Petite which fit really great too - love it when the description online explicitly reads 'non stretch denim' so I don't need to keep guessing and wait to find out when it arrives!

I'm glad I went with a sleeveless outfit on this day because it was so darn warm. The length of this vest is perfect - if most my mini dresses were of this length at the back I'd be overjoyed! And pockets... need I say more?!
After not wearing this pair of shoes for some time, the leather stiffened and it cut at my feet constantly, and the whitish section on the shoe started to turn yellowish (the same is happening t my mum's Jimmy Choos but we have no idea what's really happening. Probably oxidation. No idea.

More photos from my birthday last year - but hey, (if I do repeat outfits) I would definitely wear this one again! I've always loved pairing a longline jacket with something of a shorter hemline on the inside. This particular one is actually pretty basic, just a henley top tucked into high waisted denim shorts. But together with these kickass boots and the longline vest, the entire look changed from something I'd wear to the market on sunday mornings to an outfit I actually wore for a day out and about in town! I love basics for this reason - there're always so many other things they go with and I can style it in a bunch of different ways, for different occasions/to give off different vibes. Also, this henley top is superrr soft (we all know I'm a sucker for soft tees) and that makes it x10 more enjoyable to style and wear.

These tarts at Tarte (Shaw House) was my 'birthday cake' last year. My favourites - chocolate raspberry tart and figs tart!
